A tax return is a declaration that taxpayers are required to file with the tax authorities under the law. Under the GST Act, normal taxpayers have to file 3 monthly returns and 1 return every year. Similarly, there are separate returns for taxpayers who have opted for the composition scheme, taxpayers registered as Input Service Distributors, or persons liable to deduct or collect Tax at Source (TDS/TCS).
